Alan Griffin
&
Susan LaFrance
House #1
624 Country Club Drive
You will never believe the residential transformation of the former Purple Sage Clubhouse! The building was built in 1964. It was used as a clubhouse until the new clubhouse was constructed as part of the Purple Sage Golf Course expansion. Alan and Susan purchased the building in 2002 and immediately started extensive remodeling. Most of the work was done by the couple themselves. This exquisite home now features four bedrooms, four bathrooms, a huge living room with a flagstone fireplace, and a designer kitchen. Renovations to the downstairs area are currently being completed.
Marvin and Linda Friedenberg
House #2
638 19th Street
This beautiful corner home sits back from the street on a large landscaped lot. The Friedenberg’s moved into their home in August 2007. In a short time, they have made many improvements and have decorated their home in a classic eclectic style. The Freedenberg’s have collected unique artifacts from their travels around the world, including a fabulous variety of nutcrackers.
Darren Sager
House #3
724 10th Street
Darren Sager has gone to great lengths to make this older house a charming home. This historical home has been lovingly and carefully restored to incorporate modern conveniences. Darren has searched far and wide to find many historical items to include as part of his decorating motif. This beautiful home may spark memories of your own childhood home.
Paul and De Mills
House #4
1000 10th Street
If you were able to visit this home on last year’s tour, you experienced one of the most beautiful and fun homes in Evanston. In addition to an incredible interior décor, Christmas decorations flourish in every nook and corner. This year’s surprise is the mountain of boulders that have carefully been placed in the backyard to create a magnificent enclosed space. Cathedral windows pull the backyard space into the living room space. This marriage of outdoor and indoor space creates an ambiance like no other.
Richard and Barbara Burchell
House #5
206 Broken Circle
This rambling ranch style house has been completely renovated and redecorated by the Burchell’s. Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Richard and Barbara have occupied their home since 2003. An intriguing aspect about the Burchell’s home is the downstairs family room that is dedicated to the Pittsburg Steelers. Their Christmas décor is a treat to be experienced with decorations mirroring the black and gold colors of their favorite NFL team.
Carl and Stephanie Gerrard
House #6
56 Aspen Grove Drive
This gorgeous home features six bedrooms and four bathrooms. There is ample room for the Gerrard’s five lovely children. Carl and Stephanie have remodeled their home to include the perfect home entertainment center that includes a built-in television. Stephanie’s interior design expertise adds flavor to this beautiful home. This is a home not to be missed!
Roma Perkins
House #7
110 Wind River Drive
This ranch home in a rural setting features a finely crafted flagstone fireplace. Built in 1958, the home was remodeled forty-one years later in 1999. The Perkins’ raised their two children here in a country setting with horses and open fields. Roma starts decorating her home early for the holiday season. It is one of the most ornately decorated Christmas homes in Evanston. Santa would be proud!
